What a great first day! I am so grateful for all the support this first 24 hours has brought. As I write this we are at 42% funded, nearly half way through! This has definitely exceeded all of my expectations!
The Royal Sea has been such a center piece of my world for the past few years. And seeing it here now being received so well on Kickstarter is such an amazing feeling. When I began the Royal Sea I didn’t know what it would become, I was in the process of developing my watercolor style, and learning how to use the paints. Each character brought a new question, a new color scheme, a new blending technique I wanted to try. As I progressed I began to see these little guy’s coming together in their own world. They began to play off each other, like the wild and crazy Octopi against the calm and centered jellies, or the regal sea horses next to the stoic turtles. I loved those comparisons. This Launch on Kickstarter is obviously the culmination of this exciting chapter of the Royal Sea, but I know these guys have so many more story’s to tell, and the next chapter is just about to begin!
As we move past the first day of this campaign things are bound to slow. Getting the word out about this project is the most crucial part.
